Session 606 posted up his “electronipop / conformtronica” debut LP, under the name ascreamforthememory. All purchases of Artisans ($3 for 12 songs!) go directly into recording costs for the long-awaited second half of Session 606’s vision, HIATUS.
Both Session 606 and ascreamforthememory are masterminded by multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, songwriter: Anthony Masington. Ant Mas previously was 1/3 of Josh Eppard’s (Coheed and Cambria) rock project, Mours. Masington also previously played guitar in Weerd Science‘s live hip-hop band, and was the frontman of The Flatline Symphony.
On May 22, 2012, Ant and I released the debut Session 606 EP. Many years in the making, this whole project is dedicated in loving memory to Anthony’s Uncle Chip (RIP). Uncle Chip introduced him to the power of music in the first place and without his influence, we would not have this heartfelt music.
The release of REBIRTH coincided with Uncle Chip’s death anniversary, and the timing couldn’t feel more right.
The only place to get the EP is at http://session606.bandcamp.com
REBIRTH is just one half of our original vision.
As I touched upon earlier, Anthony Masington started writing the songs for this project years ago. There’s tons and tons of demos, so recently we decided to put together a compilation of self-recorded songs that lead to the formation of the project, for free download. That’s the Anorexica EP.
The other half of the original vision is HIATUS.
In 2008 Ant moved to Kingston, NY to begin recording the HIATUS & REBIRTH record with Dave “Wavis” Parker. He ended up recording several songs with Josh Eppard and Dave under the name Mours. Session 606 began touring (solo) opening for Josh’s hip hop project Weerd Science, and ended up performing in the WS band on guitar. The songs Anthony performed during that era make up the HIATUS side of the record.
Due to recording and production costs, we had to split the original vision of a full-length into two EPs. All profits from REBIRTH go directly into completing HIATUS. Both of those will be digital only, on bandcamp. Hopefully sales from both EPs combined plus sales from ascreamforthememory will provide the funding we need to press a physical copy of the full-length album, before the world ends!
